EVERYDAY NEW i! Hello, we are NINE.i!

NINE.i (나인아이) is a nine-member boy group formed by FirstOne Entertainment. Originally as ten, they debuted on March 30, 2022 with the mini album New World.

Their name stands for 'EVERYDAY NEW i'.[1]

History[]

Pre-debut[]

On January 9, 2022, the group's official SNS accounts were opened along with the motion video of their logo. On the same day, a teaser photo for the group was released.[1][2]

2022: Debut with New World, Ⅰ (Part.1)[]

On March 6, a teaser was released for The Birth of New Algorithm, a prologue trailer which will expand upon the worldbuilding of the group, set for release on March 9.[3]

On March 8, their debut was confirmed to take place on March 30,[4] and on March 13, they announced the mini album New World.[5]

On October 19, the group announced their first comeback with their second mini album I (Part.1), set to be released on November 8.[6]

On December 6, FirstOne Entertainment announced that members Winnie, Seowon, and Jiho would be going on hiatus from group activities due to their individual schedules.[7] The three members were later revealed to be contestants on the survival show Boys Planet.

2023: Winnie's hiatus, New Mind, "Neverland", "Back to Christmas"[]

On April 21, 2023, FirstOne announced that Winnie would be going on hiatus due to a shoulder injury, and would not participate in the group's future activities.[8] On July 13, FirstOne announced that Winnie would continue his hiatus to recover from his shoulder muscle tear and inflammation. Although his health had improved a lot, it was decided that Winnie would be sitting out the upcoming August comeback to focus on recuperating.[9]

On July 17, the group announced their third mini album New Mind, set to be released on August 3.[10]

On October 23, the group announced their first digital single "Neverland", set to be released on November 2.[11]

On December 16, the group announced their second digital single "Back to Christmas", set to be released on December 21.[12]

2024: Winnie's departure, lawsuits against FirstOne and departure, hiatus, Japanese debut[]

On January 28, 2024, FirstOne announced that Winnie had left the group due to his shoulder injury.[13]

On March 15, the members, excluding Eden, shared that they are currently in a legal dispute with FirstOne.[14]

On June 12, it was announced that matters with FirstOne had been resolved. The group would be preparing for a new start and discussing the direction of future activities.[15] On August 1, it was announced that the group would go on hiatus after completing their Japanese tour.[16]

On November 9, the group announced that they would be making their Japanese debut with the single "Mirage", set for release on December 3.[17]
