NIKA (니카), formerly known as Monika (모니카), is a South Korean-German singer-songwriter and model under ZIZE Studio and her own production label, MUSIKANT. She is a former member of the girl group BADKIZ.
She made her solo debut on May 19, 2016 with the digital single "Goodbye".
Career[]
2014–2018: BADKIZ, solo debut[]
On March 24, 2014, Monika made her official debut as the leader and main vocalist of BADKIZ, with the single "Ear Attack", which achieved modest viral success in South Korea for its catchy hook and playful 'slapping' choreography.[1]
On May 19, 2016, she made her solo debut with the single "Goodbye" featuring Moos of MADTOWN.[2]
On March 20, 2018, Monika confirmed her departure from BADKIZ on V Live.[3]
2018–present: Solo career, name change, new agency[]
On March 23, 2018, she made her first comeback as a soloist after her departure from BADKIZ with the single "Can I Live Without You".[4]
In 2021, she joined a new agency, COREO Entertainment, to focus on her music and modelling career.
On October 5, 2022, she announced that her stage name would be changed to NIKA.[5] She released her single "Fancy" on October 13, 2022. Later the same year, she was presumed to have left COREO Entertainment due to the deletion of her profile page from their website.
On February 28, 2023, NIKA revealed that she had joined a new agency, ZIZE Studio.[6]
