Minjeong (민정) is a South Korean trainee. She was a former member of the pre-debut girl group IOLITE.

Career[]

2012: Kpop Star 2[]

In 2012, Minjeong appeared on SBS's Kpop Star 2 but did not make it to the finals.

2016: Produce 101[]

In 2016, she participated in Mnet's survival show Produce 101. However, she was eliminated in the eighth episode and ranked 45th place. A few months later in the same year, she signed with Starship Entertainment as a trainee.[1]

2018: Dancing High[]

In late 2018, Minjeong appeared as a contestant on the dance battle program Dancing High. She unfortunately was not one of the two winners of the show, however, it was assumed she would continue to pursue dance via school.

2020–2021: Trainee under High Up and P NATION[]

In late 2020, High Up Entertainment debuted their first girl group, STAYC. Although Minjeong was seen with the girls in training videos, she did not make the debut lineup. It was assumed she was cut from the group before debut.[2][3][4]

After STAYC's debut, Minjeong was revealed to have signed on with P NATION as a trainee. However, she left the agency sometime in 2021 after announcing on September 16, 2021 via her Instagram account that is not affiliated with any agency.[citation needed]

2022: IOLITE[]

On February 28, 2022, Minjeong was featured in the first weekly evaluation video posted on Instagram by Yoon In-seok, the CEO of an unnamed company.[5] On May 4, 2022, Minjeong was officially revealed as the first member of the upcoming girl group, IOLITE.[6]

However, on December 13, she revealed through Instagram that she will no longer participate in IOLITE due to personal reasons.
