Minho (민호) is a South Korean singer, rapper, and actor under SM Entertainment. He is a member of the boy group SHINee.

Early life

Minho's father, Choi Yun-kyum, is a well-known soccer coach and retired professional player. Growing up, Minho wanted to become a professional soccer player, however, his father greatly disapproved of this decision.[1][2]

Career

Pre-debut

In 2006, Minho was discovered through SM Entertainment's Casting System.[3] In March 2008, he modeled for Ha Sang-beg's F/W 08–09 Seoul Collection.[4]

2008: Debut with SHINee

He debuted as a member of SHINee on May 22, 2008 with the group's first mini album Replay.

Personal life

Education

Minho graduated from high school on February 10, 2010.[5] He then went on to attend Konkuk University, majoring in film. He graduated from the university in 2015.[6]

Military service

On April 15, 2019, he enlisted into the Marine Corps. His expected discharge date is November 14, 2020.[7]
