Mina (미나) is a South Korean singer, rapper and actress under Story J Company. She is a former member of the girl group gugudan, its sub-units SEMINA and OGUOGU, and the project girl group I.O.I.
Career[]
2016: Produce 101, debuts with I.O.I and gugudan[]
In January 2016, Mina became a contestant on the survival show Produce 101, where she would represent Jellyfish Entertainment. She ranked 9th in the finale, thus becoming a member of I.O.I.[1] The group officially debuted on May 4 with their first mini album Chrysalis.
On June 23, she was revealed as the eighth member of gugudan.[2] The group officially debuted on June 28 with their first mini album Act.1 The Little Mermaid. As a result, Mina was absent from the promotions of I.O.I's single album "Whatta Man".
2017: I.O.I's disbandment, debut with gugudan OGUOGU[]
On January 29, 2017, I.O.I officially disbanded following the release of their third and finale digital single "Downpour".
On August 10, Mina debuted as a member of gugudan's first sub-unit, gugudan OGUOGU, with their first and only digital single "Ice Chu".
2018: Debut with gugudan SEMINA[]
On July 10, 2018, she debuted as a member of gugudan's second sub-unit, gugudan SEMINA, with their first and only single album "Semina".
2020: gugudan's disbandment[]
On December 30, 2020, Jellyfish Entertainment announced gugudan would disband on December 31 after four years together.[3]
2023: Departure from Jellyfish Entertainment, new agency[]
On June 15, 2023, it was announced that Mina would be leaving Jellyfish Entertainment following the expiration of her exclusive contract and decided not to renew. She was also in talks to sign a contract with acting agency Story J Company.[4]
On July 3, 2023, Story J Company announced that they officially signed with Kang Mina.[5]

Mina attended Jeju Girl's Middle School in her youth and in February 2018 became a graduate of the Practical Dance Department of Seoul School of Performing Arts.[6]
