Metaverse Entertainment (메타버스엔터테인먼트) is an entertainment company founded in 2021 for the development of digital human production, virtual idol management, and VFX (visual special effects) businesses.[1]

History[]

Metaverse Entertainment was founded on August 20, 2021 as a subsidiary of Netmarble F&C, which is itself a subsidiary of the games developer Netmarble Corporation who are the second largest shareholders of HYBE.[2]

In August 2021, Metaverse Ent. partnered up with Kakao Entertainment to produce music artists to be introduced into the K-pop industry.[1] The following year, they revealed their first virtual idol: RINA, who is jointly managed by the agency SUBLIME.[3]

In 2022, Metaverse Ent. received investments from Hyundai Motor Group.[1]

At the beginning of January 2023, Metaverse revealed their first virtual idol group MAVE:.[4]
