Maywish (메이위시) was a one member act under J9 Entertainment. Originally as four, they debuted on October 17, 2018 with the digital single "Hello".

It is presumed that the group effectively disbanded in 2023 after member Moony departed from J9 Entertainment.

History[]

2018: Debut with "Hello"[]

Maywish debuted on October 17, 2018 with the single "Hello". Three days later, their agency announced that the group will be recording a music video for "Hello", which was released on November 15.[1]

On December 18, the group won their first award on 2018 Green Earth G-show Music Awards in the "Best Dance" category.[2]

2019–2023: "Srr", lineup changes and disbandment[]

On May 12, 2019, Maywish released their first comeback single titled "Srr".

In June, J9 Entertainment announced that they will completely change the group's line-up. On October 6, a vocal cover of "Feel Special" by TWICE was uploaded on the label's YouTube channel, the video featured a new member, Moony.[3][4]

After introducing Moony as its first and only member, Maywish fell silent. No further members were announced, and updates ceased entirely. The group's social media pivoted exclusively to promoting Moony, unofficially transforming the project into a solo act. Notably, she was marketed not as a member, but simply as a soloist.

It is presumed that the group effectively disbanded in 2023 after Moony departed from J9 Entertainment, though it had been in an unofficial hiatus since her introduction.
