Mayu (마유) is a Japanese singer under MODHAUS. She is a member of the girl group tripleS, a member of its sub-units EVOLution and Sun and the leader of the sub-unit ∞!.
2023–present: tripleS, EVOLution and Japan Dimension[]
On July 19, 2023, Mayu was revealed as the sixteenth member of the girl group tripleS, and a member of its sub-unit EVOLution.[1] The unit debuted on October 11, 2023, with the mini album EVOLution <⟡>.[2]
She made her debut as a tripleS member on May 8, 2024 with the album <Assemble24>.
On July 18, 2024, it was announced that members Mayu and ShiOn were pre-selected as members of the upcoming Japanese sub-unit ∞! by MODHAUS before the gravity began.
Mayu's surname Kōma is a very rare Japanese family name. When written and read through Korean hangul and hanja, it is Goryeo (고려 (高麗)), referring to the Korean state. Formally known as the Koma clan, it is suspected that it was created by an immigrant royal family that descended from the Goguryeo Prince Go Yak'gwang. It also takes its origins from the Gyerubu Go Korean family name. Therefore, Mayu can be considered as having very distant Korean ancestry.
