Mark (마크) is a Taiwanese-American singer-songwriter and rapper under Creative Artists Agency. He is the main rapper of the boy group GOT7.
As a soloist, he goes by his English name, Mark Tuan. He made his solo debut on January 11, 2020, with the digital single "Outta My Head".[1]
Career[]
Pre-debut[]
Mark lived in Los Angeles, in the United States, and was in high school when he was invited to audition by a representative from JYP Entertainment. Passing the audition, he became a trainee in August 2010, at which point he moved to Korea.[2][3]
In 2013, he appeared on WIN: Who Is Next, competing alongside Jackson, BamBam and Yugyeom.[4]
2014: GOT7[]
After three and a half years of training, he made his debut in boy group GOT7 when the group debuted with mini album Got It? on January 16, 2014.
2017: Photoshoot[]
Mark had his first solo photoshoot in 2017 with Dazed Korea.[5]
2018: Apparel collection[]
He collaborated with Represent to design a limited-edition apparel collection titled "XCIII" (his birth year in roman numerals). The items were available for two weeks, the sale opening on July 2, 2018.[6]
2019: Second apparel collection, photobook, fan meeting tour[]
Once again in collaboration with Represent, Mark launched on March 18, 2019 a second apparel collection. Titled "XCIII Evolution", it was available for two weeks only as well.[7][8]
In April, he won the 'Weibo Hot Star Award' at the Weibo Starlight Awards.[9]
He released his first solo photobook, 'Mark宜夏', in June.[10]
On July 20, in Nanjing, he kicked off his first solo fan meeting tour, called "On Your Mark".[11] The second fan meeting was held in Chengdu on September 14, during which a surprise event took place for Mark's birthday that was ten days before.[10]
2020: Fan meeting, solo debut[]
On January 11, 2020, he held his last fan meeting, in Shanghai. On the same day, he made his solo debut with the digital single "Outta My Head".[11] He released a second digital single, "从未对你说过", on March 14.
2021: Departure from JYP Entertainment, two apparel collections, "One in a Million", "Last Breath"[]
On January 10, 2021, it was reported by Dispatch that all GOT7 members would be leaving JYP Entertainment after 7 years of contract, with the 35th Golden Disc Awards being their last activity as a group.[12] On January 11, JYP Entertainment officially announced that the members will be leaving the agency as their contract expires on January 19.[13]
Mark's YouTube channel reached one million subscribers on January 21, and his first upload to the channel was a reaction to the milestone. During the video, he thanked the people supporting him and he expressed his intention to post more content soon, though he asked people to be patient for a little bit more time. He also announced that his next single, "One in a Million", a collaboration with Sanjoy, would be released on February 12.[14]
After teasing it with a mysterious video a few days earlier,[15] Mark released a new apparel collection titled "XC3" on March 17. It is his third collaboration with Represent.[16]
On April 29, 2021, Deadline reported that Mark had signed with Creative Artists Agency, an American talent and sports agency.[17]
Mark released his first English digital single, "Last Breath", on November 12.
On November 22, he collaborated once again with Represent for the "XC3: Butterfly" collection.[18]

On January 21, 2022, Mark released his second English digital single, "My Life".
On March 24, Mark released his third English digital single, "Lonely", and on April 7, he released his fourth English digital single "Save Me". On July 1, he released his fifth English digital single "Imysm".
On July 6, Mark announced that he will release his first studio album, The Other Side on August 26.[19]
On September 12, he announced that "Imysm (NIIKO X SWAE Remix)" will be dropping on September 19.[20]
"Far away (Crankdat Remix)" was released on December 2.[21]
2023: "Carry Me Out", "Everyone Else Fades", "Your World", Fallin'[]
On March 3, 2023, Mark announced his sixth English digital single "Carry Me Out", set to be released on March 31.[22]
On August 21, Mark posted a teaser hinting at a possible comeback on September 1.[23] The title of his seventh single, "Everyone Else Fades", was revealed the next day.[24]
On September 25, Mark announced his new single, "Your World", set to be released on September 29.[25]
On October 16, Mark announced his digital EP, Fallin', set to be released on October 27.[26]
2024: "Superpower"[]
On July 16, 2024, Valorant announced that KISS OF LIFE and Mark will be releasing "Superpower" on July 24 as the anthem for the 2024 Valorant Champions.[27]

- Mark has a dog named Milo.[31] The dog has his own Instagram account, shared by another dog named Kit, who belongs to Mark's family.[32][33]
- He has many tattoos, among them: a dove and olive branches on the back of his forearm; the words "stay true" and "be real" above each knee; a hibiscus (Korea's national flower) on the back of his bicep; a smiley face on his kneecap; and a butterfly on his calf.[3]
