Magic Girl (매직걸) is a nine-member project girl group under Rainbow E&M. They made their debut on April 29, 2021 with the release of their first digital single "Magical Girl".
They are the first group created under the Future Idol Asia project.[1]
History[]
2020–present[]
In 2020, Rainbow Company (later known as Rainbow E&M) created Future Idol, an idol development project for the purpose of debuting various project idol groups throughout 2021 through its project, known as 'Future Idol Asia'. On November 21, 2020, Future Idol Asia introduced Magic Girl and its members through their YouTube, FutureIdolTV.[2] Throughout the next six months, they uploaded several dance and song covers before finally debuting as the first girl group in the project on April 29, 2021 with the release of their debut single album "Magical Girl".[3][4]
Magic Girl was one of several teen idol groups who performed a showcase at YES24 Live Hall on May 23, 2021 as part of the 'Future Idol Debut Project'.[5]

- During the 2021 Future Idol showcase, Seojin passed the first round of auditions to become trainee at Kakao Entertainment and Rainbow Company.[6][7]
- During the same showcase, Seohui also passed the first round of auditions for Rainbow Company.[7]
- Seohui passed the second round of auditions for Rainbow Company on July 3.[8]
