MOA (모아; also stylized as M.O.A) was a five-member girl group under Professional Entertainment. They debuted on February 20, 2014 with the digital single "Inception".
They presumably disbanded in 2015 due to inactivity.
The group name stands for “Motion of Art”.[1]
History[]
2013: Pre-debut[]
In December 2013, Professional Entertainment revealed that they were debuting a seven-member girl group named MOA in January 2014. The debut was later delayed to late January in order to perfect their performance.[2]
2014: Debut with "Inception", lineup change, cancelled comeback[]
On February 20, 2014, MOA made their debut with the digital single "Inception". Upon debuting, members Yui and Zelli left and were replaced by Dain and Zebra.
On March 18th 2014, they released the MV for their 1.5th single "Inception 1.5", featuring "Run for your dream", in promotion of the Kolon Section Marathon that took place in Gyeongju on March 29 of the same year.[3]
In mid-2014, Chanhee, Jayoung, Zebra and Dain left the group. This was followed by the addition of Namigeonhye and Hyoju to the group. Sometime later, Sieun and Kimi were added to the group but weren't officially announced by the company.[4][5]
In late 2014, Professional Entertainment announced that MOA would be making their comeback with the new lineup consisting of Namigeonhye, Hyoju, Sieun, Kimi, Miva, Hyena, and Hika.[6] However, the comeback never happened.
2015: Disbandment[]
Since early 2015, the group became inactive. Their name was removed from the description of the company's YouTube channel. In addition, Professional Entertainment's website, Facebook page and MOA's Twitter page were deleted. Therefore, it was assumed that the group has disbanded silently.
