MJ (엠제이) is a South Korean singer-songwriter under Fantagio. He is a member of the boy group ASTRO and a former member of the project trot group Super Five.
He made his solo debut on November 3, 2021 with the digital single "Happy Virus".[1]
Career[]
2016: ASTRO[]
On February 23, 2016, MJ debuted as a member of ASTRO with the release of their first mini album Spring Up.
2020: Favorite Entertainment and Super Five[]
In 2020, MJ participated in the MBC reality show Favorite Entertainment. MJ was then able to become one of the five members who would debut in the project group. On August 15, MJ then debuted as a member of Super Five with the digital single "Hello" under his full name Kim Myung Jun.
2021: Solo debut with "Happy Virus"[]
On November 3, 2021, MJ debuted as a soloist with the digital single "Happy Virus".
2024: Contract renewal[]
On December 18, 2024, Fantagio announced that MJ had renewed his contract with the agency.[2]

Hiatus[]
On January 28, 2022, Fantagio announced that MJ would be going on a hiatus from all activities due to health issues.[3]
Military service[]
On April 9, 2022, Fantagio announced that MJ would be enlisting in the military on May 9 as part of the military band.[4]
On May 31, 2022, Fantagio announced through ASTRO's official fancafe asking fans to stop prank calling his military base.[5]
He was discharged on November 8, 2023.[6]
