MEGAMAX (메가맥스) was a five-member boy group under Inmedia. Originally as six, they debuted on September 8, 2021 with their first mini album, Painted Love.
They quietly disbanded sometime in 2024.
History[]
2021: Pre-Debut and Debut with Painted Love[]
They were first announced on July 12, 2021 with a coming soon teaser for a new 6-member group called MEGAMAX.[1] On August 6, a second coming soon teaser was released on August 5 showing a photo of the group members from behind.[2] It was also announced that they would holding the showcase for their debut album, Painted Love, on August 25.[3]
On August 20, the group announced their debut showcase would be postponed to September 8 due to the continuing fourth wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.[4] Although a six-member group, member Woojoo was unable to participate in various activities for unknown reasons.[citation needed]
Sometime in October, the company replaced Woojoo with Jini, a former member of AWEEK and Underdog under the name Yongjin (용진), with no proper statement.
2022: Jaehun's departure[]
In October 2022, Jaehun left the group due to unknown reasons since he was not in their any contents anymore.
2023: Rohan's departure, potential new members, new member[]
On July 20, 2023, Rohan announced that he has left the group, thus MEGAMAX will continue on as four members.[5]
On August 22, 2023, they made a collaboration with a Korean cosmetics brand Secret Era, revealing three potential new members, JNone, HwanE and Beat A.[6]
On September 3, 2023, they revealed a new member, HwanE.[7]
2024: Disbandment[]
On July 20, 2024, a staff member confirmed that MEGAMAX had quietly disbanded.[8]
