MBK BOYS (MBK 보이즈) was a pre-debut boy group under MBK Entertainment.

Career[]

2019: Produce X 101 and announcement[]

In 2019, Kim Yeong Sang, Lee Han Gyul and Nam Do Hyun were contestants on Mnet's survival show Produce X 101. On May 10, during the survival show, MBK Entertainment revealed several photos with the title "MBK BOYS" including Kim Kijung, Lee Junwoo and Lee Jae Eok, in addition retweeting the Produce X 101 profile photos of Kim Yeong Sang, Nam Do Hyon and Lee Han Gyul.[1]

Yeongsang, Hangyul, and Dohyun placed 65th, 7th, and 8th, respectively, thus earning spots for Hangyul and Dohyun and debuting in the project group X1 on August 27, 2019.

2020: Disbandment[]

On January 8, 2020, it was announced that the official Twitter account MBK BOYS was changed with POCKETDOLZ that would include in the line-up Lee Han Gyul and Nam Do Hyun, explaining the official disbandment of MBK BOYS.[2]

Aftermath[]

Following the disbandment of MBK BOYS, the members went their separate ways:

  • Lee Han Gyul and Nam Do Hyon were moved in the new upcoming boy group POCKETDOLZ under PocketDol Studio.
  • Lee Jae Eok was revealed as new trainee under One Cool Jacso Entertainment on December 24, 2020.
