MAVE: (메이브) is a four-member virtual girl group under Metaverse Entertainment. They made their debut on January 25, 2023 with the single album "Pandora's Box".

Their name is derived from the phrase "Make New Wave" as the group aims to create a new wave in the K-pop scene.[2]

History[]

Pre-debut[]

On November 8, 2022, it was reported that new agency Metaverse Entertainment are preparing a virtual (AI) idol group, MAVE:, which would be released in the first half of 2023.[3] Later reports revealed MAVE: to be a joint development between Kakao Entertainment and Netmarble F&C, the latter being a subsidiary of games developer Netmarble Corporation.[4][5][6]

On January 8, 2023, agency opened SNS accounts for the group and released their official logo motion video.[7] Two days later, on January 10, they released a group photo revealing the virtual members of the group, consisting of MARTY:, SIU:, TYRA:, and ZENA:.[8]

2023: Debut with "Pandora's Box", What's My Name[]

On January 11, 2023, a concept teaser video was released, announcing that MAVE: would make their debut on January 25 with their first single album, "Pandora's Box".[9]

On November 6, the group posted a logo motion for their first-ever comeback.[10] On November 8, the group announced their first EP, What's My Name, set to release on November 30.[11]

2022-2023: MOBA game Paragon The Overprime[12][]

In 2022, Zena appeared in the game. Later, Marty appeared in the game, her release took place on November 28, 2023. In addition, the video game developers, in collaboration with MAVE: released a special soundtrack 'ASSEMBLE'.
