"Love Virus❤ (2050)" is a song by Giuk and features Sunwoo. It serves as the fifth track for Giuk's solo debut mini album Psycho Xybernetics : Turn Over, which was released on April 20, 2023.

Background and composition[]

"Love Virus❤ (2050)" (feat. Sunwoo) is the first official collaboration between NAMED LATE members and high school friends Giuk and Sunwoo. It was recorded in Giuk's studio.[1]

"Love Virus❤ (2050)" is a pop-punk rock song with a rich electric guitar sound, written and composed by Giuk and Sunwoo with an arrangement by LIVING PUFF. It expresses a "love virus" that spreads through breakup, mutating to create a "variant" without a vaccine that can only be treated through our own effort. It's a song about the intense pain of not being able to forget someone you love.[2]

The inclusion of the year "2050" in parentheses in the title places the song within the timeline of the overall story told throughout the conceptual album Psycho Xybernetics : Turn Over, with the rest of the tracks also allocated their own years in parentheses.[2] "Love Virus❤ (2050)" is placed midway, at fifth position in the track list: beginning with the intro of unknown year "X", then the non-sequentially placed title track "Time Machine (2100)", followed by the tracks "Unblown (2020)", "Ego (2021)", jumping forward to "Love Virus❤ (2050)", "Rarity (2062)", "Xybernetic (2077)" and leading to the final song aptly titled "Apocalypse (2090)".

Music video[]

Giuk and Sunwoo together co-directed and featured in a special music video for "Love Virus❤ (2050)". It was filmed with the help of their friends independent of their agencies as a NAMED LATE production and released on May 1, 2023.[3] The music video was directed/edited by Ryo, a friend and artist whom Giuk has previously featured in his SoundCloud songs.[4] Other friends and collaborators such as KAMI (aka Kim Jaehyun), who featured in Giuk's "Xybernetic (2077)", and NAMED LATE member Gray Dot also participated in the music video production.

Trivia[]

  • The narration at the beginning of the song is voiced by singer-songwriter Hano.[1] Giuk has previously featured Hano on his SoundCloud song "Xilhouette".
