"Love Dive" (stylized in all-caps) is the second single album by IVE. It was released on April 5, 2022 with "Love Dive" serving as the single's title track.
The physical release is available in 9 versions: 1, 2, and 3 and six member-specific limited edition jewel cases editions.
Background[]
On March 15, 2022, a teaser posted across the group's social medias announced they will make their first ever comeback on April 5, revealed the album's format and name.[1]
Composition[]
The lead single "Love Dive" was described as a "dark modern" pop song with "addictive chorus and percussion sound" with lyrics that "reinterpret cupid of the new era planning to shine on the stage". The second track "Royal" was described as a dance-pop song with "groovy and funky house-type baseline" and "smooth and souful synth sound" that "gives the elegant and intense [vibe] of catwalk in a fashion show". The song's rap lyrics was contributed by member Gaeul and Rei.
Commercial performance[]
On April 6, 2022, it was reported that the album recorded 120,345 copies sold in its first day of release.[2] On April 12, Hanteo Chart reported that the album's first-week sales was 338,141 copies sold, therefore doubling the first-week sales of the group's debut album. Furthermore, the album now ranks at #4 on the list of highest first-week sales by a girl group's album on the chart.[3]
On June 8, 2022, the album was certified Double Platinum by the Korean Music Contents Association (KMCA) for selling 500,000 copies on Gaon Chart.[4]
On November 10, 2022, "Love Dive" received a platinum certification for reaching over 100 million streams on Circle Chart.[5]
On April 11, 2024, "Love Dive" was certified Million by the KMCA for selling over 1 million copies on Circle Chart.[6]
Music video[]
On June 15 at approximately 10:02 p.m. KST, "Love Dive"'s music video surpassed 100 million views on YouTube, making it their second music video to do so. It took the song about two months, 10 days, four hours, and two minutes to reach the milestone, making it their fastest music video ever to the hit 100 million mark.[7]
