Louis (루이) is a South Korean singer and rapper. He is a former member of the pre-debut boy group DV.OL, the boy group BLANK2Y, and the project boy group 1THE9.
Career[]
2018–2020: Under Nineteen and 1THE9[]
On October 25, 2018, Kim Tae Woo was introduced as a contestant of Under Nineteen with his moving poster. The poster revealed that he was a part of the vocal team.[1] He finished in third place, thus becoming a member of the project group 1THE9.[2]
On April 13, 2019, the group officially debuted with the mini album XIX. 1THE9 officially disbanded on August 8, 2020, following the release of their final mini album Good Bye 1THE9.
2022–2023: BLANK2Y[]
On December 25, 2021, Keystone Entertainment announced Tae Woo, now under the stage name Louis, as the second member of their upcoming boy group BLANK2Y.[3] They debuted on May 24, 2022 with the mini album K2Y I : Confidence [Thumbs Up].
2023–2024: Departure from Keystone Entertainment, new agency, DV.OL[]
On June 27, 2023, it was announced that he, along with DK, U, Sungjun and Sodam, had terminated their exclusive contracts with Keystone Entertainment after an in-depth discussion with the agency.[4]
On August 16, 2023, it was announced that he, along with DK, U, Sungjun, and Sodam have signed with DS Entertainment.[5]
On October 24, Louis was announced as a member of the upcoming boy group DV.OL.[6] However, as the group has been inactive since January 2024, it is speculated that their debut was cancelled.
