Let's Talk About Love (Korean album)

Let's Talk About Love is the second mini album by Seungri. It was released on August 19, 2013 with "Gotta Talk To U" serving as the album's title track.

Release and reception[]

After the release of his debut mini V.V.I.P in January 2011, Seungri decided to focus on other activities.[1] During this period, he revealed that he had lost confidence in music and felt discouraged due to his evaluation of the other members of his group BIGBANG, whom he considered to be highly talented, thus Seungri decided to pursue a career other than music.[2] However, after ending his acting activities in Japan in 2012 and returning to South Korea, he attended a meeting with YG Entertainment executive Yang Hyun-suk, who advised him to work as a producer for his second mini album, although Seungri was initially unsure about the idea.[3]

Prior to the release of Let's Talk About Love, YG Entertainment released several promotional images containing information that included its release date and respective track list.[4] The mini album was released in digital format on August 19, 2013 and physical format on August 21, 2013, debuting at number one on the Gaon Chart and went on to sell over 70,000 copies,[5] which included the latter, two different cover versions and a remix version of the single "Gotta Talk To U" as a bonus track.[6]

The album was well received, Billboard described the album as "showcases Seungri's affinity for high-quality pop and electro-pop jams" and naming "Let's Talk About Love" as one of the stand out tracks of the album,[7] and calling it "one of the most accessible Korean tracks released this year". All the 6 songs debuted in the Gaon Digital Singles and the Billboard K-Pop Hot 100 charts.[8]
