Career[]
Early career[]
Lena began dancing and acting at the age of 5 and 9, respectively. She appeared in the 2005 film Memoirs of a Geisha as a student dancer.[1] She won Miss HiTeen pageant in 2009. At the same time, she was scouted by JYP Entertainment and two years later, she joined the agency as a trainee.[1]
2013–2015: 6MIX[]
In December 2013, JYP Entertainment announced that they would debut a new six-member girl group in the first half of 2014.[2] Tentatively called 6MIX, the lineup was rumored to consist of Cecilia, Lena, Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Jihyo and Minyoung. By early 2015, Cecilia and Lena left the agency, thus cancelling their debut.[3]
2015: Return to the U.S[]
After leaving JYP Entertainment, she returned to the United States to pursue a career in acting. She competed in the 2015 Miss Korea USA pageant, in which she was one of the four winners and represented the U.S for the Miss Korea pageant in July.[1][4]
