Youngbin (영빈) is a South Korean former singer. He is a former member of the boy group BLANK2Y.

He is best known for participating in the reality survival show I-LAND.

Career[]

2020: I-LAND[]

On June 4, 2020, Youngbin was introduced as a participant in the CJ ENM and Big Hit Entertainment's then upcoming survival show I-LAND.[1] On the first episode, he performed "Crown" by TXT, along with Sunoo and Jake and was able to enter "I-LAND".[2] Because of an average score of 59, half of the I-LANDER team had to be sent to "Ground" in the third episode. Youngbin was the first one to be sent as he was voted to leave by everyone besides himself.[3] Youngbin was able to enter "I-LAND" in the fourth episode following the Ground's performance of "Fire" by BTS.[4] However, on the sixth episode, he was voted back to "Ground" with a total of 11 people voting him back.[5] On the seventh episode, he was unfortunately eliminated from the show and was unable to participate in Part 2.[6]

2021–2023: "CIELOGROOVE Project Vol.2", BLANK2Y[]

On October 28, 2021, Youngbin was featured in the single "CIELOGROOVE Project Vol.2", which was a part of the CIELOGROOVE project.

On December 16, Keystone Entertainment announced Youngbin as the first member of their upcoming boy group BLANK2Y.[7] They debuted on May 24, 2022 with the mini album K2Y I : Confidence [Thumbs Up].

On February 25, 2023, an anonymous individual came forward accusing idol "Y" of dating violence, who was later confirmed to be Youngbin. Later that day, KeyStone Entertainment confirmed the rumors, and announced that Youngbin had left BLANK2Y.[8]
