Trivia[]

  • He's been active as an underground music artist by the name "Huta" (Korean: 허타; Hanja: 虛打), pronounced "heo-ta" (not "hu-ta" as the official spelling would suggest) in Korean romanized to English.[3]
    • Minhyuk explains that his high-school English teacher went by the same pen name, and he donned the name in a stroke of inspiration after him. The hanja making up the name respectively mean "emptiness" and "to hit/strike," collectively meaning to "fill up the void," which is what he continually wishes to do with his music. [4]
  • In 2012, Minhyuk was cast in a variety show, tvN's "The Romantic & Idol 2 with Jewelry's Yewon.
  • Minhyuk had multiple appearances since 2013 on "Let's Go! Dream Team Season 2".
  • Minhyuk is known as one of the best idol-athletes in the industry. He was crowned as the MVP of the 2014 Idol Star Athletics Championships.
  • His MBTI personality type is ISFP.[10]
  • He has the same birth name as MONSTA X's Minhyuk and Block B's B-Bomb.
