Lee Mi Joo (이미주; or simply Mijoo) is a South Korean singer under AOMG. She is a member of the girl group Lovelyz, project duo JUJU SECRET and a former member of the project co-ed group Toyote.
She made her solo debut on May 17, 2023 with the single album "Movie Star".
Career[]
2014: Debut with Lovelyz[]
She debuted as a member of Lovelyz on November 12, 2014 with the group's first album Girls' Invasion.
2021: Departure from Woollim, change of agencies, and Toyote[]
On November 16, 2021, Lovelyz went on indefinite hiatus after the members' contracts expired. She decided to not renew her contract with Woollim.[2]
On November 10, Antenna revealed that Mijoo is in talks to sign onto the agency for an exclusive contract.[3] Later, on November 17, Antenna confirmed that Mijoo officially signed with them.[4]
On December 18, Mijoo then participated in the release of "Still I Love You" by Toyote, which was a three-member project group formed from MBC's Hangout with Yoo.
2022-2023: JUJU SECRET, solo debut[]
On May 25, 2022, Antenna released a statement announcing that Mijoo would be making her solo debut during the summer, for a target release set for late July or early August, though it never materialized at the time.[5]
On March 25, 2023, Mijoo debuted as a member of the project duo JUJU SECRET with their first single, "Lonely Night". The duo was formed through MBC's variety show Hangout with Yoo.[6]
On April 3, 2023, Antenna confirmed that Mijoo is preparing to make her solo debut in May.[7] Then on April 19, it was confirmed that she would be releasing a single album for her solo debut on May 17.[8]
On May 1, Antenna revealed the title for Mijoo's single album "Movie Star" through a logo motion teaser.[9]
2025: Departure from Antenna, signing with AOMG[]
On November 6, 2025, Antenna released a statement announcing that Mijoo had left the agency after deciding not to renew her contract.[10] On November 23, AOMG announced that Mijoo had signed on with the agency.[11]
Personal life[]
Relationship[]
On April 18, 2024, news outlet Newsen reported that Mijoo is currently in a relationship with soccer player Song Bum Keun. Later that day, Antenna confirmed news reports stating that the two are "carefully getting to know each other with mutual affection".[12]
However, on January 20, 2025, it was reported by local South Korean media outlet Mydaily that Mijoo and Bum-keun broke up, citing the fact that they were unable to deal with the media attention and public attention, deciding to end the relationship and remain friends.[1]
On July 25, it was reported that Mi Joo and Hanwha Eagles baseball player Lee Jin-young are dating. However, Antenna stated that the dating rumors are unfounded as the two do not know each other and have never met.[13]
