—LUNARSOLAR

LUNARSOLAR (루나솔라) was a four-member girl group under J Planet Entertainment. They debuted on September 2, 2020 with the single album "SOLAR : Flare".[1]

History[]

2019–2020: Pre-debut[]

In January 2019, NHN Bugs revealed plans to debut two girl groups in 2019 through two of their subsidiaries. One of these groups would be First Love, a "seven-member girl group with a revolutionary concept".[3]

Only five possible members had been introduced through J Planet Entertainment's trainee group ROOKIE PLANET with no word of First Love's debut plans.

2020: Debut with "SOLAR : Flare", fandom name[]

Sometime in March 2020, Sujin left the trainee team. On July 13, 2020, J Planet announced they would be debuting their first girl group called LUNARSOLAR with their four remaining female trainees.[4] The group officially debuted on September 2, 2020 with the single album "SOLAR : Flare".

On December 2, 2020, the group revealed their fandom name to be "Haedal". The name holds two meanings: first, the sun and moon of LUNARSOLAR. Secondly, just like sea otters who hold hands not to be swept away in the water, LUNARSOLAR and their fans will tightly hold hands and rely on each other.[5]

2021: "SOLAR : Rise", "Christmas is You"[]

On March 18, 2021, a teaser photo posted onto the group's social medias announced their first comeback with their second single album "SOLAR : Rise".[6] The album was released on April 7 with "DADADA" serving as the title track.

On December 6, the group's announced on their official SNS that they will release a new single album titled "Christmas is You", which was released on December 8, 2021.[7]

2022: "Do You Wanna Get Down" , disbandment[]
