Kyungmin (경민) is a South Korean singer under MNH Entertainment. He is a member of the boy group 8TURN and a former pre-debut member of &AUDITION Boys (now known as &TEAM).
He is best known for participating in the reality survival show I-LAND.
Career[]
2020–2021: I-LAND, HYBE Labels Japan Global Debut Project[]
On June 2, 2020, Kyungmin was introduced as a participant in the CJ ENM and Big Hit Entertainment's upcoming survival show I-LAND.[1] On the first episode, he performed "Chained Up" by VIXX, along with Geonu and Jaeho, but was unfortunately "eliminated" and was unable to enter "I-LAND" and was placed in "Ground".[2] Kyungmin was able to enter "I-LAND" in the fourth episode following the Ground's performance of "Fire" by BTS.[3] However, on the sixth episode, he was voted back to "Ground" with a total of 11 people voting him back.[4] On the seventh episode, he was unfortunately eliminated from the show and was unable to participate in Part 2.[5]
On December 31, 2020, he was revealed as a member of the HYBE Labels Japan Global Debut Project scheduled to debut in 2022.[6]
On May 31, 2021, it was announced by HYBE Labels Japan that Kyungmin will depart from company after discussing and realizing there were differences in the directions being sought.[7]
2022–2023: Debut with 8TURN[]
On October 11, 2022, he was revealed as a member of the upcoming boy group 8TURN (then known as BOM).[8] He was then officially introduced on October 25.[9]
They made their debut on January 30, 2023 with the mini album 8TURNRISE.
