Kyla Massie (카일라 매시), or simply Kyla, is an American independent singer-songwriter, rapper and YouTuber. She is a former member the girl group PRISTIN.
She made her solo American debut on June 13, 2020 with the mini album Watch Me Glow.[5][6]
Career[]
2017–2019: PRISTIN[]
In 2017, Pledis announced Kyla as a member of PRISTIN, which debuted on March 21, 2017 with the mini album Hi! PRISTIN and its title track, "Wee Woo".
On October 12, 2017, Pledis announced that Kyla would be halting all group promotions to return to the United States and receive treatment for a concussion.[7]
On May 24, 2019, it was announced by Pledis that PRISTIN was officially disbanding after almost two years without activity. It was also announced that 7 out of 10 members had not renewed their contracts with the agency, Kyla being one of them.[8]
2019–present: YouTuber, solo career[]
On September 21, 2019, Kyla became a YouTuber after opening her own channel.[9]
On May 22, 2020, she revealed in her Twitter account that she will be releasing solo songs soon.[10] On May 28, she revealed that she will be releasing a mini album on June 12, yet untitled.[5] In the following day, she delayed the release to June 13.[6] On June 1, she released the digital cover of her debut mini album, titled Watch Me Glow.[11]
