Kotone (Korean: 코토네; Japanese: 琴音) is a Japanese rapper and singer under MODHAUS. She is a member of the girl group tripleS and member of the sub-units EVOLution, Visionary Vision and ∞!.
She is also known for being a contestant on the South Korean reality survival show, Girls Planet 999.
Career[]
2021: Girls Planet 999[]
On July 7, 2021, Kotone was confirmed as a contestant on Mnet's newest reality show, Girls Planet 999, along with the other participating trainees, through the prologue trailer.[1] Her official profile was released on July 19.[2][3] She was almost eliminated after the second round of auditions, but was saved by the planet pass, which was given by the planet masters.[4] Unfortunately, on the 11th episode, which was aired on October 15, Kotone was revealed to have been eliminated following the third round of eliminations.[5]
2023-present: tripleS[]
On January 2, 2023, Kotone was announced as the eleventh member of the upcoming girl group tripleS.[6]
On April 26, it was announced that Kotone had been placed in EVOLution.[7] The unit debuted on October 11, 2023 with the mini album EVOLution <⟡>.[8]
She made her debut as a tripleS member on May 8, 2024 with the album Assemble24.
On June 16, it was announced that Kotone had been placed in Visionary Vision.[9]
On August 25, it was announced that Kotone had been placed in ∞!.[10]

- Although several other Japanese surnames are pronounced "Kamimoto," the spelling for Kotone's surname, written as 嘉味元, is one of the rarer variations. Held by 30 people nationwide, she is most likely related to all people who share the surname.[23][24]
