Kimchi (김치), also known by his real name Yu Ye Hyang Gi (유예향기), is a South Korean influencer and former singer. He is a former member of the project duo Ikki and the boy group AA.
Career[]
2011-2015: AA[]
On November 4, 2011, he made his debut as a member of AA.
In May 2015, he presumably departed from AA during their transfer to Blue Star Entertainment.
2019: Debut with Ikki[]
On July 19, 2019, he debuted as one half of the project duo Ikki with the digital single "9am", under the stage name Ki.[1]
Controversies[]
Consulting fraud[]
In 2021, he was accused of scamming thousands of people by falsely claiming to operate a online shopping mall with monthly sales of 100 million KRW to promote his YouTube channel, lectures, books, and consulting services. Following a long police investigation, he announced on December 20 that he had been found not guilty. In addition, he admitted to having exaggerated some claims during his lectures and apologized publicly.[2]

- His stage name is Kimchi because it's "hot, refreshing, and represents Korea". He wasn't too thrilled about the stage name at first but eventually come around.[3]
- Another candidate for his stage name was Kkakdugi.[3]
