Kim Woo Jin (김우진; or simply Woojin) is a South Korean singer-songwriter under Kustomade. He is a former member of the boy group Stray Kids.

He is also the leader of the fictional boy group ACT under the name Kyungmin (경민).[1]

He made his solo debut on August 5, 2021 with his first mini album The Moment : 未成年, A Minor.

Career[]

2018–2019: Stray Kids[]

On March 25, 2018, he made his debut as a member of the boy group Stray Kids, under JYP Entertainment.

On October 27, 2019, JYP Entertainment announced his departure from Stray Kids and agency after deciding to terminate his exclusive contract due to personal circumstances.[3]

2020: Controversy[]

On September 8, 2020, an anonymous user used a Twitter account to report that she had been harassed by an idol in a bar. According to the victim, even after she said she had a boyfriend, the idol insisted on continuing the conversation and when she tried to leave, he grabbed her by the wrist and only released her when she screamed. The account also released some clues that led Internet users to believe that it was Kim Woo Jin. Later on the same day, Kim Woo Jin took his social medias accounts to say that he was aware of the accusations and were not true; he also took the opportunity to announce that he was preparing for solo activities under a newly formed agency.[4]

A few hours later, 10x Entertainment reported that they were taking legal action against the allegations and that they had evidence that Kim Woo Jin was at his home on the alleged day.[5]

10x Entertainment released a documentary titled "Finger Killer" on YouTube on June 30, 2021, giving details on the controversy.[6]

2021–2022: "Still Dream", solo debut with The Moment : 未成年, A Minor, Kim Woo Jin 1st World Tour 2022 <Still Dream>[]

On March 25, 2021, Kim Woo Jin announced his fandom name will be called "CUBS (컵스)".

On June 29, he announced his pre-debut single "Still Dream", set to release on July 8.[7]

On July 18, he announced his solo debut mini album The Moment : 未成年, A Minor would be released on August 5.[8]

On May 29, 2022, he annouced his first world tour Kim Woo Jin 1st World Tour 2022 <Still Dream>.[9] The first dates for the European leg were announced on June 30.[10]

2023: The Moment : 美成年, Bounce[]

On August 2, 2023, Kim Woo Jin announced that his second mini album, The Moment : 美成年, Bounce, would be released on August 30.[11] "Say Something to Me"'s music video was pre-released on August 4.[12]

2024: New agency, I Like The Way[]

On March 19, 2024, it was revealed that Kim Woo Jin had signed an exclusive contract with Kreation Music Rights' Kustomade, a subsdiary of SM Entertainment.[13]

On March 25, Kreation Music Rights announced that Kim Woo Jin will be coming back in April.[14] On April 3, Kustomade announced that Kim Woo Jin will be having a comeback on April 22.[15] His third mini album was later revealed to be titled I Like The Way.[16]
