Kim Min Ju (김민주; or simply Minju) is a South Korean singer-songwriter, rapper and actress under Management SOOP. She is a former member of the project girl group IZ*ONE.

Career[]

2018-2020: Produce 48, IZ*ONE and Show! Music Core[]

On May 11, 2018, she was revealed as a contestant on Produce 48, where she would be representing Urban Works Entertainment. She placed 11th overall, thus becoming a member of IZ*ONE.[1] The group officially debuted on October 29 with their first mini album Color*IZ.

On June 1, 2020, it was announced that she would become the new MC for Show! Music Core, replacing Mina of gugudan. Her first appearance was on June 13.[2]

2021: IZ*ONE disbandment, acting career[]

On April 29, 2021, IZ*ONE disbanded after their special contract was concluded. Then, Minju returned to Urban Works as a trainee.

In August, rumors started to surface speculating that Minju had received an offer from Source Music to be in their upcoming girl group, however, there was hesitancy on her part because she was more interested in her acting career.[3] It was later reported that she had declined their offer and will instead be focusing on her career as an actress.[4]

2022-2023: Management SOOP and departure from Show! Music Core[]

On August 29, 2022, it was confirmed that Minju is in talks to an exclusive contract with Management SOOP, as her contract with Urban Works Entertainment comes to an end this month.[5] On September 1, Management SOOP confirmed that Minju signed with them with a welcome message on their official SNS.[6]

On January 13, 2023, Management SOOP announced that Minju would be stepping down from the MC position of Show! Music Core after over two years to focus on her acting career. Her final appearance was on January 28.[7]
