Key (Korean: 키; Japanese: キー) is a South Korean singer, actor, fashion designer and MC under SM Entertainment. He is a member of the boy group SHINee.
He made his solo debut on November 6, 2018 with the digital single "Forever Yours".
Career[]
2008: Debut with SHINee[]
He debuted as a member of SHINee on May 22, 2008 with the group's first mini album Replay.
2014: Debut with Toheart[]
On March 3, 2014, Key debuted as one-half of the duo Toheart, alongside INFINITE's Woohyun, with the release of their first mini album.
2018: Solo debut, "Forever Yours", Hologram[]
Key made his solo debut on November 6, 2018 with his first digital single "Forever Yours", which was later featured on his first studio album Face.[1]
On October 30, it was announced that Key would be releasing his first digital single, "Forever Yours", on November 6.[2]
On December 5, it was announced that Key would be making his Japan solo debut with his first mini album Hologram on December 21.[3]
2019: I Wanna Be, "Cold"[]
On February 8, teaser video were posted which revealed that Key would be releasing his second digital single, "Cold", on February 14.[4]
On February 25, it was announced that Key would be releasing his first repackage album, I Wanna Be, on March 4. It's the sixth release of STATION season 3.[5]
2021: "Hate That..."[]
On August 24, teaser photos revealed that he would be releasing his third digital single, "Hate That...", on August 30. It's stated as the pre-release single for his upcoming album. On August 25, Taeyeon was said to be a feature artist on the single.[6]
2021: Bad Love[]
On September 6, it was announced through a teaser photo that Key would be releasing his first mini album, Bad Love, on September 27.[7]
2022: Gasoline,[]
On August 9, it was revealed that he would be releasing his second full length album, Gasoline, on August 30.[8]
2023: Killer, Boys Planet, Good & Great[]
On January 25, a logo clip was posted which announced that he would be releasing his second repackaged album, Gasoline, on February 13.[9]
On March 23, Mnet revealed that Key was selected as the fifth star master for their competition show, Boys Planet. [10]
On July 18, it was announced that Key will be joining the cast for TVING's variety show, Crime Scene Returns. It is set to be released in the first half of 2024.[11]
On August 17, Sports Chosun reported that Key will be having a comeback in September.[12]
On August 21, it was announced that Key will be releasing his second mini album, Good & Great, on September 11.[13]

Military service[]
On March 4, 2019, he enlisted in the military as a member of the military band.[14][15] He was officially discharged on October 7, 2020.[16]

Trivia[]
- He has two small dogs, one brown and one grey, named Comme Des and Garçons, after the Japanese fashion label Comme Des Garçons. The dogs have their own Instagram account.[20]
- He's a huge fan of singer BoA (who is also his senior and labelmate).[21]
- He is fluent in English: he studied abroad for a while in Australia (2003) and in the USA (2004) and because of this he is considered one of the best English speakers in SM Entertainment.[22]
