Kang Yuchan (Korean: 강유찬; Japanese: カン・ユチャン; formerly known as Chan) is a South Korean singer, actor, and musical actor under Way Better. He is the maknae of the boy group A.C.E and a former member of the project boy group UNB.

He made his solo debut on July 10, 2025 with the digital single "Champagne Poppin'".

Career[]

Pre-debut[]

Chan was a part of dancing crew that specialized in popping called Alive87, he went under the name Aka Buggy.[1]

2017–2018: The Unit and UNB[]

In 2017, Chan, along with fellow group member Jun, became a contestant on KBS 2TV's idol rebooting show The Unit. He made it to the final line up after achieving 9th place, making him a member of the temporary boy group UNB.[2][3] The group debuted on April 7, 2018 with the mini album Boyhood and disbanded on December 2018.

2020: Acting activities[]

On March 18, 2020, Chan was announced as a cast member for upcoming web drama Twenty-Twenty.[4]

2023: Change of stage name[]

On August 13, 2023, Beat Interactive announced that Chan has changed his stage name and would be going by his given name Kang Yuchan for future activities from this point moving forward.[5]

2025: New agency, solo debut[]

On March 21, 2025, Beat Interactive announced that the exclusive contract of all five members of A.C.E will expire on March 31 and both parties have mutually decided to not renew their contracts.[6]

On April 7, Way Better announced that Kang Yuchan had signed with them.[7]

On July 1, Way Better announced that Kang Yuchan would debut on July 10 with the digital single "Champagne Poppin'".[8]

Military service[]

On July 18, 2022, it was announced that Chan would be enlisting as an active duty soldier on August 16.[9] He was discharged on February 15, 2024.[10]
