Kai (카이) is a South Korean singer, rapper, and actor under SM Entertainment. He is a member of the boy group EXO, its sub-unit EXO-K, and the supergroup SuperM.
He made his solo debut on November 30, 2020 with the self-titled mini album.
Career[]
2012: Debut with EXO[]
Kai was revealed as the first member of EXO on December 23, 2011.[1] He debuted as a member of the group and its sub-unit EXO-K on April 9, 2012 with the mini album Mama.
2019: SuperM[]
On August 4, 2019, he was confirmed as a member of the supergroup SuperM.[2] The group debuted on October 4 with their self-titled mini album.
2020: Solo debut[]
On July 3, 2020, it was revealed that Kai was preparing to make his solo debut sometime later in the year.[3] He made his solo debut on November 30 with his self-titled mini album.[4]
2023: Rover, fanmeeting[]
On February 14, 2023, SPOTV News released a report stating that Kai will be releasing an album in March. Hours later, SM Entertainment confirmed the report and added that it will be released mid March.[5] On February 17, it was announced that Kai will be releasing his third mini album, Rover, on March 13, 2023.[6]
On May 4, SM Entertainment announced that Kai will be having a free fanmeeting on May 9, ahead of his military enlistment.[7]

He graduated from School of Performing Arts Seoul (SOPA) in February 2012.
Relationship[]
On April 1, 2016, local media outlet Dispatch reported that he and Krystal of f(x) were dating and it was confirmed by SM Entertainment on the same day.[8] In June, 2017, SM reported that the couple have broken up due to busy schedules of both sides.[9]
On December 31, 2018, rumors of a possible relationship between he and Jennie of BLACKPINK began to take off when the same local media outlet of the last time posted pictures of the two together on a date, with the information that they also had spent time together in Paris back in October.[10] On January 1, 2019, SM Entertainment confirmed the pair were dating and gave the statement, "Kai and Jennie have become fond of each other". Later that day, YG Entertainment also confirmed the news.[11] On January 25, SM Entertainment revealed that the couple had broken up, but did not reveal the reason for it.[12]
Military service[]
On May 3, 2023, SM Entertainment released a statement that because of a recent change in regulations of the Military Manpower Administration Kai will be enlisting on May 11 as a public service worker.[13] He will be discharged on February 10, 2025.[citation needed]
