KONNECT Entertainment (커넥트엔터테인먼트) was a South Korean record label and entertainment agency. It was founded on June 10, 2019 by and for singer Kang Daniel.[1] They officially closed down on June 9, 2024.[2]

History[]

2019-2021: First artists[]

KONNECT Entertainment was established on June 10, 2019 by Kang Daniel and aims to connect Korea to the rest of the world through his future activities.[1]

On July 10, 2021, it was announced that CL has signed a domestic management deal with the agency for the promotions of her upcoming full length album, Alpha.[3]

On August 4, KONNECT announced that Chancellor had signed on with the agency.[4]

On September 1, KONNECT announced that GFRIEND's Yuju has signed an exclusive contract with them to promote as a solo artist.[5]

2024: Lawsuit against major shareholder, disestablishment[]

On May 20, 2024, Wooree Law Firm, Kang Daniel's legal representative, announced that they filed a criminal complaint against the major shareholder of KONNECT Entertainment for charges including counterfeit of private document, embezzlement, breach of trust, violation of information and communications network, and fraud by use of computer.[6] It was later confirmed that all artists under the company have already ended their exclusive contracts, while Kang Daniel's contract would be ending in June and is expected not to renew and would step down from his position as CEO.[7] Additionally, it was reported that most of the company's employees were laid off or resigned, and the company itself is in the process of closing.[8]

On June 9, Kang Daniel released a statement revealing that KONNECT Entertainment closed down after five years.[2]
