Ju Won Tak (주원탁) is a South Korean singer. He is a former member of the boy group Underdog and project group RAINZ. He is also a former pre-debut member of the boy group D.I.P and the pre-debut team i-Teen.
He made his solo debut on November 26, 2018 with the single "In The Light".
Career[]
2016–2018: i-Teen, D.I.P, Underdog, Produce 101 Season 2, RAINZ[]
He was supposed to debut as a member of ASTRO's final lineup, however, he left the company in 2016.[1]
In March 2016, he was part of the pre-debut lineup of the boy group D.I.P.[2] However on April 14, it was announced he, along with Seunghyuk, Sangwoo, and Insu, had left the group.[3]
Later in 2016, Won Tak became a member of the boy group Underdog under the stage name Roel (로엘).
In 2017, he participated in Mnet's survival show Produce 101 Season 2, representing 2ABLE Company, but was eliminated in episode 5 and finished in 62nd place.[4] Following the program's conclusion, he, along with other former contestants, debuted as a member of the project group RAINZ in October 2017 before disbanding a year later.[5]
2018–2019: Solo debut, agency dispute[]
On November 26, 2018, he made his official solo debut with the digital single "In The Light".
On May 23, 2019, it was reported that Ju Won Tak had submitted certification of contents to terminate his contract with 2ABLE Company.[6] His agency responded that they would take legal action against him after which he released a statement on Instagram explaining that the company's CEO was being investigated for fraud and embezzlement and that he had not received any earnings for his activities while with RAINZ.[7]
