Jo Aram (조아람), formerly known as Hyeyeon (혜연), is a South Korean singer, dancer and actress under Beyond J. She is a former member of the girl group gugudan and its sub-unit gugudan OGUOGU.
Career[]
2016: Debut with gugudan[]
On June 23, 2016, Hyeyeon was revealed as the ninth and final member of gugudan.[1] The group officially debuted on June 28 with their first mini album Act.1 The Little Mermaid.
2017: Debut with gugudan OGUOGU[]
On August 10, 2018, she debuted as a member of gugudan's first sub-unit, Gugudan OGUOGU, with their first and only digital single "Ice Chu".
2018: Departure from gugudan[]
On May 17, 2018, Jellyfish Entertainment announced Hyeyeon would be taking a break from group activities due to health concerns.[2]
On October 25, her departure from the group was announced and was said to be caused by the aforementioned health problems as well as a desire to focus on her studies.[3]
2022-present: Activities as an actress[]
On March 4, 2022, Hyeyeon signed an exclusive contract with Beyond J. She will promote as an actress under the stage name Jo Aram.[4]
In April 2022, Aram made her debut as an actress in tVN's The Killer's Shopping List.[5]
On March 6, 2023, news outlet Sports Chosun reported that Jo Aram, alongside Girl's Day member Hyeri, began filming for the cheer leader-themed movie Victory to be released in 2024. This would mark as Aram's big screen debut.[6]
