Jiyeon (지연) is a South Korean singer and actress. She is the maknae of the girl group T-ARA and its sub-unit T-ARA N4.

She made her solo debut on May 20, 2014 with the mini album Never Ever.

She released songs under the name LA LIMA, the name of her character in the 2021 KBS drama Imitation.

Career[]

2009: Debut with T-ARA[]

She debuted as a member of T-ARA on July 29, 2009 with the group's first single "Lie".

2013: Debut with T-ARA N4[]

On May 2, 2013, she debuted as a member of the group's sub-unit T-ARA N4 with the mini album Jeon Won Diary.

2014: Solo debut[]

Jiyeon made her solo debut on May 20, 2014 with her first mini album Never Ever.

2018: New agencies, solo activities[]

On January 3, 2018, it was announced all of the remaining members of T-ARA had left MBK Entertainment. However, the group would not be disbanding.[1]

On May 16, it was announced Jiyeon signed on with Longzhen Culture for her future Chinese promotions.[2]

On November 22, Partners Park announced Jiyeon had signed on with the agency for her domestic activities.[3]

2021–present: Departure from Partners Park and AnB Group[]

On July 12, 2021, Partners Park confirmed to OSEN that Jiyeon's contract recently expired and she had decided not to renew.[4]

On February 18, 2022, Jiyeon signed an exclusive contract with AnB Group.[5]

On July 3, 2015, it was confirmed that Jiyeon and actor Lee Dong-gun were dating after meeting as co-stars on the movie Encounter.[6]

On February 1, 2017, it was announced the couple had broken up due to drifting apart from busy schedules.[7]

On February 10, 2022, Jiyeon announced that she will be marrying baseball player Hwang Jae-gyun in the coming winter.[8] On November 2, it was announced that they will be getting married on December 10.[9][10][11]

On October 5, 2024, it was announced that the couple couldn't overcome their differences and ultimately agreed to get divorced.[12]
