Jisoo (지수) is a South Korean singer, lyricist and actress under BLISSOO and Warner Records. She is a member of the girl group BLACKPINK.

She made her solo debut on March 31, 2023 with her first single album "Me".

Career

Pre-debut

Jisoo joined YG Entertainment in 2011 after passing its auditions. On January 15, 2013, Jisoo was confirmed as a member of the then-upcoming YG Entertainment girl group. She appeared in Epik High's music video for "Spoiler + Happen Ending" and Hi Suhyun's music video for "I'm Different" in 2014. Jisoo made a cameo appearance in The Producers along with Sandara Park of 2NE1 and Yoon of WINNER in 2015.

2016: Debut with BLACKPINK

On June 15, 2016, she was revealed as the third member of BLACKPINK. The group debuted with their first digital single album, "Square One", on August 8, 2016.

2017-2019: Hosting Inkigayo, Arthdal Chronicles

Jisoo, along with Jinyoung of GOT7 and Doyoung of NCT, hosted Inkigayo from 2017 to 2018.

In 2019, she made a cameo appearance in the tvN K-Drama Arthdal Chronicles as Sae Na-rae.

2020-2022: Snowdrop

On August 18, 2020, it was announced that she would be playing her first lead role as Eun Young-ro in an upcoming JTBC drama, titled Snowdrop. On the same day, the reports were confirmed by YGE.

On September 8, 2022, Jisoo was awarded Outstanding Korean Actress at the Seoul International Drama Awards for her role in this drama.

2023: Solo debut with "Me", departure from YG Entertainment

On January 2, 2023, YG announced in a press release that Jisoo will be releasing her solo album sometime this year. On February 21, YG shared that the filming of her music video has started. On March 6, a teaser poster was posted to BLACKPINK's social media accounts, confirming the single album's release date to be March 31. The single album "Me" was announced on March 9.

On December 29, YG Entertainment confirmed that none of the BLACKPINK members renewed their individual contracts with the agency.

2024: New agency

On January 2, 2024, news outlet Xports News reported that Jisoo is expected to join BLISSOO, the newly establised entertainment branch of her older brother's children health food brand Biomom, to manage her solo activities. On February 21, the reports were confirmed.

On November 8, it was reported that Jisoo is in the final preparations for her solo comeback scheduled for the end of the year and will be filming the music video this month. BLISSOO later stated that nothing has been decided as of yet, before denying the report altogether, explaining that Jisoo is focusing on her acting career.

2025: Amortage, signing with Warner Records, "Eyes Closed"

On January 10, 2025, it was reported that Jisoo is currently preparing for her solo comeback, aiming for a February release. Her agency responded that is difficult to confirm the report. On January 13, Jisoo posted a coming soon teaser for her first mini album, Amortage, to be released on February 14.

On January 29, it was announced that Jisoo had signed with Warner Records to manage her activities in the United States.

On October 6, Jisoo unveiled a teaser for an upcoming duet single "Eyes Closed" with Zayn, which was released on October 10.

Relationship

On August 3, 2023, Dispatch reported that Jisoo and actor Ahn Bohyun were dating. An hour later, YG confirmed and added that the couple had just started seeing each other and are getting to know one another.

On October 24, industry representatives reported that the couple had announced their breakup due to busy schedules.
