JiU (Korean: 지유; Japanese: ジユ) is a South Korean singer under Dreamcatcher Company. She is the leader of the girl group Dreamcatcher and a member of its sub-unit UAU. She is also a former member of MINX.
Career[]
2014–2016: MINX[]
On September 18, 2014, she debuted as a member of MINX, with the group's first single "Why Did You Come To My Home?".
On November 29, 2016, Happyface Entertainment announced that MINX would re-debut under the name Dreamcatcher with the addition of two members.[1]
2017: Debut with Dreamcatcher, MIXNINE[]
Dreamcatcher officially debuted on January 13, 2017 with their first single album "Nightmare".
In October, JiU, alongside fellow members Siyeon, Yoohyeon, and Dami, became contestants on the survival show MIXNINE. However, on December 10, it was announced that all four members would be leaving the show.[2]
2025: UAU[]
On March 10, 2025, Dreamcatcher Company revealed that JiU, SuA, and Yoohyeon will engage in unit activities.[3]
On April 3, SuA accidentally revealed her unit with JiU and Yoohyeon is named UAU through the group's fromm.[4] On April 17, Dreamcatcher Company confirmed the sub-unit's name to be UAU through a logo motion released on Dreamcatcher's SNS accounts.[5]

- During Dreamcatcher's Nightmare Series, each member represented a specific nightmare or fear. JiU's representative fear was the fear of being chased.[8]
- Her nicknames are Pink Princess and Jyu Leader.[9][10]
- Her favorite foods are gimbap, bananas, pineapples, and coconut milk.[9]
- Her role models are her parents and Lee Hyori.[10][9]
- She is one of the members who eats the most.[11]

- She is a big fan of "all girl groups" and if given the chance, she would "want to team up with all girl groups at once."[11]
