Jay (제이), also known by his full name Kim Jinhwan (김진환), is a South Korean singer under 143 Entertainment. He is the leader of the boy group iKON.

He made his solo debut on June 21, 2023 with the digital single "Paradise".

Career[]

2015: Debut with iKON[]

Jinhwan made his debut as a member of iKON with the release of their first full-length album Welcome Back on September 15, 2015.

Following the departure of groupmate B.I on June 12, 2019, Jay was appointed as iKON's new group leader.

2022: Departure from YG[]

On December 30, 2022, YG Entertainment announced that iKON would be leaving the agency after deciding not to renew their contracts. However the members would still continue to promote as a group together.[1]

2023: Solo debut with "Paradise", Blue Moon[]

On June 15, 2023, 143 Entertainment announced that Jay would release his solo debut on June 21 with the digital single "Paradise" before releasing his first mini album Blue Moon on July 18.[2]

Military service[]

On July 7, 2023, Jinhwan personally announced through his Instagram that he would be enlisting in the military on July 20.[3] He would serve as a social service worker.[4] This resulted in Jinhwan having to end up canceling his solo Japanese tour which was scheduled to take place in Osaka and Yokohama between July 24–28, 2023.[5]

He will be discharged on April 19, 2025.
