I Got a Boy is the fourth Korean full-length album by Girls' Generation. It was released online on January 1, 2013, and was made available offline the following day.

"Dancing Queen" was pre-released on December 21, 2012 while the title track was released along with the album to continue promotions.

Merchandise[]

From January 2 to 13, 2013, exclusive I Got a Boy merchandise was available for sale at SMTOWN pop-up store in Lotte Young Plaza, Myeongdong, Seoul.

From February 13 to 17, 2013, music video stills from the "I Got a Boy" music video were gifted for purchasing Girls' Generation Express chocolates at Rabbit in the Moon Café in Apgujeong, Seoul.

Trivia[]

  • "Dancing Queen" was recorded in 2008 and is a remake of the song "Mercy" by Welsh singer Duffy.
  • "Baby Maybe" was originally co-written as a demo in English by English singer-songwriter Pixie Lott under the title "What You Do". The song was later given to Girls' Generation with Seohyun, Yuri and Sooyoung re-writing the lyrics in Korean.
  • "Talk Talk" is the Korean version of their Japanese song "Boomerang", which was included in their second Japanese studio album, Girls & Peace.
  • "Express 999" is a reference to the anime Galaxy Express 999.
