IOLITE (아이올라이트) was a pre-debut seven-member girl group. Their debut was canceled due to unknown reasons.

History[]

Pre-debut[]

On February 28, 2022, the agency's CEO posted through his Instagram account the first weekly evaluation of his then, unnamed upcoming girl group.[1] This was followed by the second and third weekly evaluations on March 8 and 28, respectively.[2][3]

On April 11, their CEO announced the group would be called IOLITE and plans to make their debut in August 2022.[4] On April 30, their CEO revealed the group's official logo.[5]

On May 4, 2022, Minjeong was officially revealed as the first member of the group,[6] followed by Hyemin on May 11,[7] Kurumi on May 18,[8] Siya on May 25,[9] Ahee on June 1,[10] and Anna on June 8.[11]

On August 26, 2022, it was announced that their debut in August would be delayed due to COVID-19.[12] The CEO later revealed that the group is aiming to debut in October, however, the debut had not materialized yet.

On October 1, 2022, an unrevealed seventh member was featured in a group photo.[13] On October 13, 2022, the seventh member was revealed to be Seojin.[14] It was later revealed that their debut has been further delayed due to issues with Korean investors.

On December 13, 2022, Minjeong and Seojin announced their departures from IOLITE due to personal reasons on their Instagram accounts, respectively.[15][16] Three days later, on December 16, IOLITE's CEO announced that all of the pre-debut members have left the group and they will rebrand with new members.[17]

As of May 7, 2023, most official SNS accounts have been deleted, leading to speculations that the group's debut was canceled. The only surviving account, the group's Instagram account, has been privatized. It was later revealed that their CEO ultimately gave up on debuting the group and left the entertainment industry entirely.
