(Let's get it! 아이쿠! 안녕하세요, 아이씨유입니다!)

—ICU

ICU (아이씨유) is a three-member girl group under Liz Entertainment. They debuted on October 22, 2019 with the digital single "Cupid".[1]

History[]

2019: Debut with "Cupid"[]

On October 22, 2019, ICU debuted as a four-member group under Liz Entertainment with the release of their first digital single "Cupid". The original lineup included Abin, Chae i, Hayu and Ella.

2020: Addition of Naye, Japanese debut, CHIC&IDLE[]

On May 31, a new member named Joah was introduced on the group's official Instagram.[2] Prior to joining ICU, Joah was a member of the girl group YJIG. She later changed her stage name to Naye.[3]

In June, Abin, Chae i, Hayu, and Ella were revealed as members of Liz Entertainment's upcoming project girl group CHIC&IDLE, which debuted on July 20 with the single "3! 4!".

The group made their Japanese debut with "Cupid (Japanese ver.)" on July 10, making them the first Liz Entertainment artists to debut outside of South Korea.

2021: "Look At Me"[]

Later, in May 2021, ICU announced the release of their second digital single, "Look At Me", which was released on May 14.[4]

2022: 2nd Japan Tour, lineup changes[]

On June 1, ICU revealed they will be going on their 2nd Japan Tour. The schedule will be released sometime in the future.[5]

On June 28, Miku was introduced as a new member of the group.[6]

On August 28, it was announced that Hayu had graduated from the group and will be joining Chic&I's.[7]

On November 16, it was announced that member Ella had graduated from the group.[8]

2023-2024: Supposed comeback with "Summer Time" cancellation, comeback with "Anti Hero", addition and departure of Loa[]

On August 21, ICU released a series of summer-themed profile pictures for the members which included the text "Summer Time / The title of our 3rd album / Coming back soon". No specified date was every given for the release of the single. However, over time, no news to follow up "Summer Time" was disclosed, and thus the release of "Summer Time" never materialized. It is assumed the comeback was scrapped entirely after a new single was given the title of their third official single.[9][10][11][12]

Nonetheless, by November 9, ICU announced the release of their third single "Anti Hero" for November 20.[13] In December, ICU clarified that "Anti Hero" was not a stand-alone digital single, but a pre-release for their first upcoming mini album.[14]

On March 8, 2024, Liz Entertainment announced Loa's addition into the group on the group's official Instagram account and was announced after the announcement of the dissolution of WE-SAY (sister group of the same company). However, on April 1, 2024, Loa announced on her official Instagram account that she would be leaving ICU and that consequently she would not participate in the concert that the girls went to do in Cambodia and would not participate in the new album of the group soon to be released due to visa and housing problems since she is in Japan (her native country). She clarified that she was still under the company, and she would continue to work hard to be a singer under the company. This was later quietly confirmed by the agency as the official Instagram account unfollowed Loa and deleted the post of her addition into the group as well as all of her featured stories.

2025-present: Departure of Chae i[]

On February 28, 2025, it was announced that Chae i had graduated from ICU and would be active as a soloist.[15]
