Kang Hyeon Su (강현수), better known simply as Hyeonsu, is a South Korean singer and trainee under AAP.Y Entertainment. He is a member of PLAYBACK7, and a former member of the Japanese-Korean project boy group NIK and of the boy groups LC9, under the stage name AO, and BLK, under the stage name D.A.
Career[]
2013–2016: LC9[]
On April 30, 2013, LC9 introduced their fourth member Hyeon Su, then known as AO.[1] They then made their debut on May 9 with the release of their mini album Skirmish.
On January 23, 2016, Nega Network announced LC9's disbandment as the members' contracts had expired on December 21, 2015, with all of the members not resigning.[2]
2017–2018: BLK[]
On November 28, 2017, he debuted in BLK under stage name D.A with mini album Into BLK Part1. I.
In September 2018, they announced their disbandment through a post on their fan cafe.
2019: Produce X 101[]
In 2019, Hyeonsu participated in the reality show by Mnet Produce X 101. In episode 11, he was eliminated and ranked 26th place.[3]
2020–2023: G-EGG, debut with NIK[]
In 2020, he participated on the Japanese-Korean audition survival show G-EGG and finished in 2nd place, thus becoming a member of NIK.
NIK disbanded in July 2023.
2023: PLAYBACK7[]
On October 13, 2023, Hyeonsu was revealed as a member of PLAYBACK7.[4]
