Hwang Min Hyun (황민현), also known simply as Minhyun (민현), is a South Korean singer-songwriter under Pledis Entertainment. He is a former member of the boy group NU'EST and the project boy group Wanna One.

He made his solo debut on February 27, 2023 with the mini album Truth or Lie.

Career[]

2012: NU'EST debut[]

Minhyun debuted as a member of NU'EST on March 15, 2012 with their first single "Face".

2017–2019: Produce 101 Season 2, Wanna One, "Universe"[]

In 2017, him, and fellow members JR, Baekho, and Ren participated in Mnet's survival reality show Produce 101 Season 2. Minhyun was the only member that made to the final 11 and finished in 9th place, making him a member of Wanna One.

Wanna One debuted on August 7, 2017 with their first mini album 1X1=1 (To Be One) and officially concluded their activities on January 27, 2019.

Following Wanna One's disbandment, he released his first digital single "Universe" on April 3, 2019.

2022: NU'EST's disbandment, "Votiz Vol.3"[]

On February 28, Pledis Entertainment announced that the NU'EST members' contracts would expire on March 14 and Minhyun decided to renew with the company.[2]

On September 13, Minhyun released the single "Votiz Vol.3" as part of the Votiz project.[3]

2023: Solo debut with Truth or Lie[]

On November 10, 2022, during the 2022 HYBE Briefing With the Community, CEO Park Ji Won announced that Minhyun is currently preparing for his first solo album.[4]

On January 20, 2023, Pledis Entertainment confirmed that Minhyun will be releasing his solo album sometime in February.[5] On February 6, a first teaser was released confirming Minhyun's solo debut date with the mini album Truth or Lie, which would be released on February 27.[6]

2024: "Lullaby"[]

On February 23, 2024, Pledis Entertainment announced that Hwang Min Hyun will release a digital single in March.[7] On February 28, Hwang Min Hyun announced the digital single "Lullaby", which will be released on March 13.[8]
