Hwaiting (화이팅) was a four-member girl group under AJA Entertainment. They made an independent debut on December 30, 2019 with the release of their digital single "Fighting", however they were scheduled to make their re-debut under an agency in 2020.[1] They disbanded sometime in 2021.

History[]

2019–2021: Pre-debut and "Fighting" release[]

On October 25, 2019, upcoming girl group Hwaiting revealed their four debuting members: Shinju, followed by Yooni, Hanbyul and Woomi.[2][3][4][5]

Initially without an agency, each member came together as sharing a common dream and interest, thus they indenpendently formed the girl group Hwaiting. On December 30, 2019, they released their first digital single, "Fighting", on YouTube. The single was not officially registered on any music streaming websites, thus is not available anywhere except on their YouTube channel. The video description states that the single was produced with the help of acquitances.[6]

Sometime in 2020, Hwaiting signed under AJA Entertainment. Leader Shinju was given a solo debut on June 9 with the EP, Like A Dream.[7] A few days later, Hwaiting greeted their fans as official idols through an introduction video uploaded on June 17, 2020.[8] They were supposed to re-debut under the agency,[1] however, no updates were given of their debut. Their were last together as a group in October 2020.[9] Though, the account continue to update member Shinju's solo activities until July 2021,[10] after which point, their SNS accounts were left abandoned.

Aftermath[]

It was found that Shinju signed under Danji Entertainment and continued as a soloist; she released her first comeback on June 9, 2022.[11]

The circumstances of Woomi, Yooni and Hanbyul are not known, however all are active on social media.
