Hongjoong (홍중) is a South Korean rapper, singer-songwriter and composer under KQ Entertainment. He is the leader of the boy group ATEEZ.
Career[]
2017: MIXNINE[]
In October 2017, he became a contestant on JTBC's reality survival show MIXNINE. He was eliminated in episode 10 after ranking 42nd place.[2]
2018: Debut with ATEEZ[]
On October 24, 2018, Hongjoong debuted as the leader of KQ Entertainment's first boy group, ATEEZ, with the release of the mini album Treasure EP.1 : All To Zero.
2022-2023: Idol Radio[]
On September 8, 2022, ATEEZ's Hongjoong and Yunho were announced as the new DJs for the third season of "Idol Radio", MBC's idol radio program.[3]
On December 27, 2023, the last episode of season 3 was aired, indicating the departure of Hongjoong and Yunho from their roles as DJs.
2022: From November 7, 1998[]
On October 27, it was announced that Hongjoong will hold his first film photo exhibition titled From November 7, 1998 at GALLERY99 in Mapo-gu, Seoul from November 1 to 7. Every vist can accumulate up to 5,000 points per person which will be converted into cash at the end of the exhibition and donated to charity.[4]
2023: Walker A[]
On October 18, Hongjoong announced his photo exhibition "Walker A" on his social media. 'Walker A' will run for a week from November 3 to 9 at the Frottage Galery in Seoul. The photo exhibition introduces the other side of the world. The singer took a break from his daily life for a moment and became 'A', a person walking blindly down the street. [5]
Hongjoong donated 50 million won to the Korean Childhood Leukemia Foundation, a donation made through entry fees and individual donations for the photo exhibition of the film "Walker A".[6]
2025: Collaborations[]
On January 1, 2025, Odetari released a track featuring ATEEZ. Odetari later wrote on his Instagram that it was a mistake and that it was now a spoiler for the upcoming release.[7] It was later revealed that Hongjoong would be featured in "SMB" song.
