On October 23, 2023, Brave Entertainment announced that DKB were preparing a new album, with the aim of releasing it sometime in November.[2] On November 6, following the departure of Teo from the group, it was reported that while recordings for songs and performance aspects had to be modified, the album would still be released as previously scheduled. The report also indicated that they had already completed filming the music video for the title track as an eight-member group.[1]
On November 12, 2023, the group dropped a coming soon teaser for their seventh mini album Hip, set for release on November 30.[3]
Composition[]
The first track of the album, "Ghost Ridah (Wow Wow)", is a groovy song based on the Rage Hip Hop sound, but has an attractive low-mid hard feel. The fun elements and themes of the song further enhanced the atmosphere of the music and captured DKB’s unique hip charm in the song.[4]
The title song "What The Hell" is a hip-hop dance song based on SYNTH BASS and GLITCH HOP with an impressive simple yet impactful chorus. The song "What The Hell" contains the aspiration that the group called 'DKB' can overcome any hardships and adversities without a problem, and it is a song that allows you to feel DKB's powerful performance.[4]
"Me, Me & You" is an attractive song with an appropriate harmony of drums and Vox samples based on Jersey club rhythm, and DKB’s unique emotional voice stands out. The lyrics contain feelings about the person you like, and the half excitement and half fear of confession are expressed in a fun way with the words, "I'm scared."[4]
"Slush" is a minimal hip-hop R&B song with a dreamy atmosphere. It tells the story of a man who fell in love with her charm and melted like a melted slush.[4]
"Fireworks" is a popular song based on hip-hop and band sounds. It contains DKB's unique hope to shoot high like fireworks and bear brilliant results. Fans (BB) are like fire, and 'DKB' is a firecracker, creating warm memories in the heart like fireworks. This is a fan song that captures the feeling that this moment that 'DKB' and fans are together is also a precious memory.[4]
