Hikaru (Korean: 히카루; Chinese: 光; Japanese: ひかる) is a Japanese rapper and singer under Avex Artist Academy. She is a former member of +GANG. She placed seventh on Mnet's reality survival show Girls Planet 999, making her a member of the girl group Kep1er. She is also a former pre-debut member of XG.
Career[]
2016–2018: +GANG[]
Sometime in 2016, Hikaru became a member of Avex Artist Academy's kids trainee duo group, +GANG, which was based in their Fukuoka branch, where she was known as member 'Hikarun'.[1] During this time, she has also had live solo events.[2][3][4] Hikaru remained a member of +GANG for approximately 2 years until their disbandment sometime in early 2018,[citation needed] however Hikaru remains a trainee under Avex Artists Academy Fukuoka.
2017-2021: Training with XG[]
From 2017 to 2021 she was trainee under XGALX with XG, but did not debut with them for the reason that she took part in the survival show Girls Planet 999.[5]
2021–2022: Girls Planet 999, Kep1er, rumors of a return to XG[]
On July 7, 2021, Hikaru was confirmed as an upcoming contestant on Mnet's newest reality show, Girls Planet 999, along with the other participating trainees, through the prologue trailer.[6] Her official profile was released on July 19, 2021.[7][8] The show began airing on August 6 and finished on October 22, 2021. During the show's finale, she was revealed to have ranked 7th overall, thus making her a member of Kep1er.
On January 3, 2022, she made her debut in the group with the release of their debut mini album First Impact.
It was rumored that Hikaru would rejoin XG in 2024.[5] However, this did not happen, due to the renewing of the contract with WAKEONE.[9]
