Highlight (하이라이트; formerly known as BEAST (비스트)) is a four-member boy group under Around US Entertainment. Originally as six, they debuted on October 16, 2009 with the mini album Beast Is The B2ST.
Career
2009: Debut with Beast Is The B2ST
On October 16, 2009, BEAST debuted with their first mini album Beast Is The B2ST under Cube Entertainment.

The third Japanese studio album, Guess Who?, was released on March 16, 2016.
On April 19, Cube Entertainement announced through BEAST's fancafe that Jang Hyunseung left the group to pursue solo activities.[2]
On April 26, Yong Junhyung announced through V Live that BEAST's upcoming album is getting prepared and the title song is written.[3] On May 3, Cube Entertainment confirmed that the group is currently preparing for a comeback in the summer as a five-member group.[4] On June 15, they dropped the first teaser for their third studio album, Highlight, scheduled for July 4.[5] On June 23, they announced they will release the pre-release track "Butterfly" on June 27, ahead of the comeback.[6]
On May 13, they announced they will release the Japanese single, "Day / Night", on July 20.[7]
After their seven-year contracts with Cube Entertainment had ended on October 15, 2016, the members decided to not renew. They eventually established their own agency, Around US Entertainment.[8][9]
2017: Name change, return with "It's Still Beautiful" and Can You Feel It, Calling You, Celebrate
On February 10, Cube Entertainment announced they will reform BEAST as a three-person group which will include original member Jang Hyunseung and two new members.[10] Both Around US Entertainment and Jang Hyunseung were unaware of the move.[11] The project enventually fell through despite being discussed until June of the same year.[12]
On February 24, Around US announced they have changed their name to Highlight, which is also the title of their final album under Cube, following legal dispute with their former agency over the legal rights to the group's name and the works they had created under the label.[13][14][15]
On February 25, Around US confirmed the group is preparing for an album[16] and on March 2, they announced their first mini album, Can You Feel It?, which was released on March 20.[17] "It's Still Beautiful" was pre-released on March 13.[18]
On May 11, Around US confirmed that the group will be making a comeback on May 29.[19] The repackage, titled Calling You, was released on May 29.[20]
The group's second mini album, Celebrate, was released on October 16, to commemorates the group's 8th anniversary.[21]
2018–2020: "Take Care", Outro, military enlistments, Yong Junhyung's departure
Yoon Dujun enlisted on August 24, 2018.[22]
On October 16, 2018, for the group's 9th anniversary, they shared with fans through V Live that they'll release a digital single on October 29.[23] On October 23, they revealed the title for their second digital single, "Take Care".[24]
On November 2, 2018, Around US revealed that the group is preparing for their first special album which will include a track that Yoon Dujun recorded before his enlistment.[25] On November 7, the group announced their first special album Outro, which was released on November 20.[26][27]
Yang Yoseop enlisted on January 24, 2019.[28]
On March 14, 2019, Yong Junhyung announced his departure from Highlight due to admitting his involvement with Jung Joon Young's illegal hidden camera sex footage controversy.[29][30]
Lee Gikwang enlisted on April 18, 2019,[31] followed by Son Dongwoon on May 9.[32]
All members were discharged in 2020.[33][34][35][36]
2021: The Blowing
On April 7, Around US Entertainment announced that Highlight is preparing a new album aimed for a May release, more than two years after their last comeback.[37] On April 16, they announced their third mini album, The Blowing, which was released on May 3.[38]
2022: Daydream
On March 3, Around US Entertainment confirmed that Highlight will be releasing a new album in March with their comeback preparations being in full swing and having recently finished shooting the music video as well as the photos for their album jacket.[39] On March 6, the group annouced their first full length album, Daydream, set to release on March 21.[40]
